Enlil Center Research Department

The Enlil Center Research Department is the collective research arm of the Enlil Center for Environment and Sustainable Development, an independent, non-profit think tank based in Baghdad, Iraq. The Department conducts applied research, evidence synthesis, and policy analysis across Enlil Center's core thematic areas — including climate change adaptation, water and energy security, environmental governance, and the socioeconomic dimensions of environmental degradation in Iraq and the wider region. Publications attributed to the Research Department represent collaborative outputs developed by Enlil Center's multidisciplinary team of researchers, analysts, and subject-matter specialists. This includes working papers, technical reports, thematic briefs, data analyses, and institutional assessments produced collectively where no single author is designated. The Department works in close collaboration with Iraqi governmental institutions, civil society organisations, and international partners to ensure research is grounded in local realities and oriented toward practical, evidence-based solutions. All research outputs attributed to the Enlil Center Research Department are reviewed and approved through the Centre's internal quality assurance process prior to publication.
