The Enlil Research Unit is the collective byline of Enlil Center for Environment and Sustainable Development, an independent, non-profit think tank based in Baghdad. Work published under this name is produced by the Center's researchers and analysts together, where no single author leads, and is reviewed internally before publication.
The Unit works across Enlil Center's five pillars: climate, water, energy, economy and governance. Its output ranges from short analyses and data briefs to research reports, and every piece ends with the datasets and sources it draws on. Where possible the underlying series are published on the Enlil Data Hub with their sources and are downloadable.
The Unit draws on Iraqi official sources first, reads them in the original, and works with Iraqi institutions, civil society and international partners so that its findings rest on Iraqi evidence and lead to practical, locally anchored recommendations.
